One of my earliest childhood memories is of being in a potato patch with my mother and grandmother. My chore was to pick off all the potato bugs. Later that summer, after a long day of harvesting the potatoes, my grandmother would bury some potatoes in the ground and make a fire over them. After a while, we'd put out the fire and dig for those hot and delicious potatoes.
